Sister Music Extravaganza!

The Jets

I don't know why I enjoy this so much, but I was reading economics the other day and I wondered, "What song by the The Jets is most identifiable to my sisters?" Who would know better than them? So I'm asking you to rank these on this criteria: 1. How much did you actually played this song? 2. How easily can you sing the song? 3.How well does the song tell your high school story? There are a few other MegaHits I could have included, like "Rocket 2 you", "Curiosity", and "Cross My Broken Heart". You can include those if applicable.

CRUSH ON YOU

This one has the best video by far.

YOU GOT IT ALL

I feel like this song was a staple for getting ready to go to school in the morning.

MAKE IT REAL

Lindsay used to listen to this song and think about Brett. Emily would console her.

I would rank them in the order I put them. The video of the first song is just too good, although the 3rd one has impressive graphics. The 2nd song is the most memorable.

Good tunes!!! Better yet, how about we try to name all 17 siblings, I can only think of Rudy and Eugene, though there's something like Lana or something. How about making us each a CD of Jets songs, I can't choose between them, they are all etched permanently in my memory.

I'm with Brooke, we may need a CD of these to decide. These songs predate even knowing Brett...frankly I mentioned The Jets to the Stevens thinking they went right along with Presidents Lee, Kimball, Benson, the Jets...and you could hear crickets chirping, none of them knew what I was talking about! As for popularity you missed "LALALALALALALA LOVe Means I love you, hoo I love you!" Elizabeth is the lead singer, Eugene wears nasty jogging shorts sometimes, Rudy has a lisp. And yes, I can sing all of the lyrics to each of the songs.
#1 Crush on you
#2 all of the rest.
And did you know they come from Hawaii? Excellent blast from the past! I wonder if I could download them...

I hope you aren't making fun of my favorite group when I was ages 10-12 or so. We had a video, "The Jets in Hawaii" that was viewed hundreds of times. I can think of Rudy, Jaime, Leroy, Elizabeth, and Kathy--maybe Lindsay can think of the rest. I would rank them in the order Tyler posted. Good memories of those songs (although probably not how Tyler described them).

Yeah I was having a hard time figuring out their ethnicity, I thought they were Vietnamese or something. There is also that one white guy. I decided to wikipedia it, they are really from Tonga. I had no idea they were Mormon. I guess they would have to be to have 17 kids. And if the 8 oldest kids were in the band, what about the other 9??
As for creating a CD, I don't have any connections to get one for free, but if you really wanted to buy it I would go to amazon and get the mp3s.

Okay, so I checked Wikipedia and these are their names:
Eugene, Elizabeth, Haini (not Jaime), Moana, Eddie, Rudy, Kathi, and Leroy.

You may or may not know (or it may not be true) that Elizabeth actually married a BYU football player and was in the Provo scene for awhile. Also, I don't know what happened with Eugene, he seems to have gotten the "recessive" set of genes to have red hair and very white skin. I will have you know I go to your blog just to enjoy the music now...
